Does anyone here have any Halloween or fall traditions or festivities they like to take part in?

Spooky season as some call it, can be pretty big for some people. I was just wondering if any of you have any plans or have done anything fun to celebrate the season?

When I was young, many years ago, I used to love going to my grandparents’ house out in the woods to have bonfire and roast hotdogs. I really do miss that, but I still have the memories and I cherish them.

So far this year, I did go apple and pumpkin picking at a farm that my family likes to go to this time of year, and we are going to Boo at the Zoo. We usually go to a haunted house but the strobe lights made it hard for some of last year due to seizure concerns so we might switch it up and try an escape room or mystery dinner theater!

What about all of you wonderful people? If you don’t have any traditions yet are there any you might like to consider starting?

Take Care,
Nicole 😉

    1. It could be anything that you enjoy!! Going to haunted house and hayrides definitely count! It could also be going to a local Halloween event in your area,
a backyard bonfire, movie nights, have a get-together with friends, camping weekend. Hiking can be really pretty this time of year. What types of things do you already enjoy?

If you need ideas for things to try meetup.com can be a great starting point to find things to do that are any season friendly.

      I am with you I wish adult trick-or-treating was a thing 😉

      Nicole!

  1. @tomboydeja Haunted hayrides are my all-time favorite! I am so happy to hear someone else goes to those as well! To be honest, a tradition can be whatever you want it to be, maybe something that brings you joy and excitement that represents the time of year!

I want to create a tradition of taking my entire family to a haunted house together every year. I think that would be so memorable. What about you?

  2. The past few Halloweens a couple of friends of mine have hosted a Saturday night costume-contest-karaoke party. Last year I went as Peter Griffin from Family Guy, and this year I’m going as Jerry Seinfeld (I wish I could post pics!). Since trick-or-treating falls on the Sunday closest to Halloween, I give out candy to the kids (and kids at heart) while wearing my costume from the previous night. This year, since I’ll be dressed as Jerry Seinfeld, I’m giving out PEZ dispensers. Seinfeld fans will get the reference; most of the kids will not. Ha!

    1. Aw man that is AWESOME, and I wish you could share! I love costumes like that! I agree most kids will not but that will be a super cool treat for them!! I hope you have a blast at the party! Do you plan to sing karaoke? Do you have a go to song?

      Take care,
      Nicole 😉
