Be proactive about your mental health

Take the quiz, learn the signs

According to the American Psychiatric Association gambling disorder is a repeated gambling behavior that causes significant problems or distress. This is also known as gambling addiction or compulsive gambling.

Gambling addiction, compulsive gambling, or gambling disorder effects someone similar to a person who is addicted to alcohol or other substances. People can crave the need and urge to gamble the same way others might crave alcohol or other substances. This can lead to problems with relationships, work, finances and even legal issues.

The following questions can help you to determine if you experience problem gambling. This quiz can also be used to help a friend or family member. This quiz is not meant to be a diagnosis, or the elimination of a diagnosis. However, if you find yourself answering “yes” to these questions a good next step could be to talk with a professional who can work with you and get the help you need. A trained medical or mental health professional can help clarify issues and diagnose gambling disorder. If you feel like your feelings, thoughts, or behaviors get worse, you are welcome to take the quiz again.

If you are in crisis and need to talk, call the Feeling Kinda Blue Hotline to reach a trained crisis worker   @ 1-866-728-7983. Our trained crisis workers cannot provide a diagnosis for gambling disorder; however, they are available 24/7 if you are in crisis or in need of support.

Over the last 2 weeks, how often have you been bothered by any of the following problems?
